First and Foremost, get to the Leader's room as fast as possible. The faster you get there the less likely the Alliance will succeed.

Secondly, Flag up. Your AOEs do nothing if your not flagged.

Third, Follow all of the Raid Leader's directions. Failure to do so will get the leader killed.

Give no quarter and expect none in return

Basic Procedures

Get to the Leader's room as fast as possible. The more people that show up the better. Many city raids have stop long before they began.

Buff Up
When you get the leader's room before the City raid it gives you a chance to buff up. When you do this, don't forget the leader(s) and the guards. Every bit helps.

Tanks
Find the tank and kill/stun him ASAP.
All City Raids have a main tank, this Main Tank with the one or two off tanks keep the Leader busy while the rest of the raid destorys any opposition and DPS down the leader.

Healers
Finding and killing the tank can be tricky, finding and killing healers is not.

DPS
Ignore DPS and go after healers instead, getting the healers to worry more about themselves instead of the raid.

AOE
If you're class that has an AOE, use it. The more AOEs the better.

The Defense
A favourite tatic of Defence Raids everywhere is blueflagging.

For those of you that do not know what Blue Flagging is:

Blueflagging is exploiting the PVP flag system by initiating an attack on a flagged enemy without manually flagging yourself first.

Blueflagging is rarely useful in City Defense raids, as AOEs do not make you autoflag.

City Choke Points
Beside the Leaders' room, this is where we can get them before the leader's room.

Orgrimmar (Org)
The bridge on the west side of the city, just inside Thrall's Throne Room

Undercity (UC)
The hallway leading to Sylvanas, just inside her throne room.

Thunder Bluff (TB)
The lifts (a single druid can wipe the raid) other than there is no real choke points in TB.

Silvermoon City (SMC)
The main entrance into the city or just inside the sunfury spire.

Common Tactics
AoE fears, stuns and the occasional deathgrip. These are used against the tanks and healers. mainly the tanks. If a Leader gets loose, they can wipe the raid.
